Digilas: Maximum performance in all dimensions

Often customers, all over the world, are looking for laser machines which fulfill special requirements. Our machine concept DIGILAS is the direct path to reach this target without any detours: Our focus is clearly on the realisation of individual wishes. Together with our customers, we define such important factors as size, equipment and performance.

DIGILAS machines offer state-of-the-art laser technologies for highest productivity and quality results. This also applies for complex multi-level 2D or 3D structures.

We know that our customers appreciate transparency. Therefore, before concluding a contract, we determine the productivity of the planned DIGILAS machine. For this purpose, we engrave the customer’s data (onto a cylinder supplied by the customer) and measure the performance. The result makes possible an exact ROI calculation, and thus facilitates the buying decision.

DIGlLAS machines enable the processing of a wide range of most different materials from copper, steel and aluminium to hard rubber, polymers and ceramic materials as chromium oxide and tungsten carbide. In addition, our customers profit from technological progress: We will inform without delay about innovations and are ready to implement technically reasonable improvements into the respective machine.

  • Imaging of printing and embossing cylinders: 8 beam technology (2 x 4 beams) for ablating black laser lacquer (2 x 200 W laser power)
  • Direct engraving of printing and embossing cylinders with 4 beam technology (max. 2 x 500 W laser power)
  • Engraving of anilox screen rollers with 4 beam technology (max. 2 x 700 W laser power in Ti203 ceramic)

Heliolas: Your entrance into perfection

Our machine concept HELIOLAS offers performance in the starter price segment. This means proven standard technology for engravings. Optionally for direct laser, anilox or LAS applications.

HELIOLAS machines stand for experience, precision and reliability. Despite the uniform machine size, they enable the processing of big and small cylinders. Always in usual high quality.

For the most common engraving tasks, the customers can choose between three machine types with one, two or four beam technology. The spot size is around 10 μm.

LASERROLL

The LASERROLL project is examining the high-resolution laser structuring of printing and embossing rollers for the roll-to-roll production of printed electronics and microstructured and nanostructured films.

The aim of the project is to develop a new type of laser processing technology that will increase efficiency and resolution in the production of precision printing cylinders.

Unlike conventional, multi-stage processes, the process being investigated in this research project is designed so that embossing tools can be structured in a single stage, with no need for postprocessing. To achieve this aim, a new ultra-short-pulse laser technology with wavelengths in the UV range is being used that fully vaporizes material with a depth resolution of 50‑100 nm and lateral structural sizes of 1 µm and does so without damaging the surrounding material.

This significantly higher structural resolution generates a disproportionately large volume of data, and efficient data processing algorithms are also being developed in the project to ensure this data can still be processed.

As it simplifies the production of printing cylinders and significantly increases resolution, the direct laser structuring of printing rollers will help bring advances in various fields of application such as printed electronics, light guide technology and security/safety-relevant packaging.
